Joshua Shome earned Masters degrees in Acupuncture and Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, and is a Diplomate in Acupuncture as certified by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  He is licensed to practice Acupuncture in the State of New York.

Joshua’s training and professional experience as an Acupuncturist have taught him that it is necessary to treat on both the physical and spiritual levels. His treatments are targeted toward promoting his patients' self-awareness and empowering them to become active in their own healing processes.

Joshua believes that a healer should not seek to simply manage symptoms, but should help the patient to treat the root of the problem - thus preventing both future recurrences and new manifestations of illness. Each treatment is personalized to account for the unique needs of the individual. Together with the patient, Joshua investigates the role of all likely causes, including physical, emotional, dietary, environmental, and lifestyle-related factors, and carefully develops an appropriate protocol.
